The first-ever STEM RTP Partner Happy Hour took place on the evening of Thursday, March 5th. The STEM RTP team was joined by the Army Research Office, Cree, the EPA, NetApp, and RTI for drinks, snacks, and networking.
Hosted on the first floor of Frontier Building 800, and open to all of STEM RTP’s 14 partners, the Happy Hour was an opportunity for people from STEM RTP’s partner companies to meet each other and learn more about the volunteer community in the Triangle. It was also a great way for STEM RTP to build closer ties with those who help make our STEM education outreach possible.
“I enjoyed attending the event and getting to spend time with my coworkers. It was also great to meet other like-minded STEM-focused professionals, learn more about what they do, where they work and hear some personal stories. A particular connection that stood out was meeting Ana with RTI. Hearing her career stories about her path from engineer to DEI consultant really inspired me. I look forward to attending your next event and encourage others to do so.” said Sunny Myers, Project Manager at Cree.
When asked why she came to the event, Kelly Witter, Director of EPA-RTP’s Community Engagement & STEM Education Program, said, “I enjoyed connecting with other organizations in the RTP region on STEM Outreach.”
We look forward to hosting the next Happy Hour and getting to know our partners better! Click here to see more pictures!
